Registration, Evaluation, and Team Composition: Grades 3-8
Please complete the following steps for fast and easy registration. Complete the paperwork and make your payment by May 17th to save $25. After May 17th there is a $25 late fee until registration closes on June 15th.
Step 1:
Review the age categories and team placement philosophy.
| Category | Grade: Fall 2012 | Placement Philosophy |
U9 U10 U11 U12 | 3 4 5 6 | We place all registered players on a team. When we compose more than one team for a single age level, we make every attempt to balance the teams. |
U13 U14* | 7 8 | There is usually one team for each age level and the roster of each team is usually limited to 18 players. |
*Note: "U14" literally means that every player on the team must be "Under 14" at the start of the season. Players in grade 8 who turn 14 before August 1, 2012 are not eligible.
For more details on eligibility, please review our policies.
Step 2:
Register directly with the Colts by May 17th, 2012. There are two easy ways:

Mail the participation fee and copy of birth certificate (for new players only) by May 17th to:
Heidi LaBrie

*Note: Be sure to complete the registration process and make payment by May 17th to avoid a $25 late fee. Players may not practice or play until fully registered. Colts' scholarships and payment plans are available.
Step 3: Attend the appropriate evaluation session (U13 and U14 only).
At the U9-U12 levels, there are no evaluations. We use coach's post-season player evaluations to balance teams. At U13 and U14, however, evaluation sessions are held to select an appropriate roster for each team.
Important: While it is recommended that players attend both evaluation sessions for their group, it is required that they attend at least one in order to be considered for a spot on the team. If they can only attend one, they should attend the earliest session available for their group.
All evaluations are held at Portland Sports Complex and are scheduled as follows (click entries for more detail):
*Note: There are no evaluations for U14 boys this year.
For your evaluation, please:
- arrive 15 minutes early
- wear shinguards and comfortable clothing (cleats are optional)
- bring a soccer ball clearly marked as yours
- bring a water bottle
- bring a pair of sneakers, if you're wearing cleats
Step 4: Receive a phone call or email from the coach of the team on which your child was placed.
After we compose teams and coaching staffs, we will have your coach contact you directly. We will also post
a list of the teams and their coaches (but not the team rosters) on the Teams page of this web site.
